Barnton House Extension

This project involved the transformation of a detached two-and-a-half-storey home in Barnton with the addition of a larch-clad extension. By carefully removing a corner of the existing ground floor, we were able to create a new kitchen and dining space that wraps around the rear and side of the house, forming a fluid connection with the garden.

A raised ceiling above the contemporary kitchen and island draws in natural light throughout the day via high-level windows, creating a bright, uplifting atmosphere. In contrast, the dining area is defined by a striking lowered, polished ceiling that enhances the sense of intimacy—offering a calm, welcoming space for family life and entertaining.
