Accessibility and adaptability were fundamental to the brief. Step-free entrances, open circulation and a discreet internal lift allow easy movement between floors, ensuring the home can respond gracefully to changing needs over time. Upstairs, the master suite enjoys expansive views across landscaped gardens towards Blackford Hill, creating a calm retreat within the wider family home.

Set behind mature trees and enclosed by historic stone walls, the site offers privacy and a strong sense of enclosure. Its triangular form required a carefully considered response to maximise space, light and outlook while maintaining a respectful relationship with neighbouring properties and the garden itself.
The architecture is intentionally softened through green detailing, including integrated planters and a sedum roof that enhances biodiversity, supports sustainable drainage, and helps the building sit comfortably within its wooded surroundings. As the landscape matures around it, the house becomes increasingly immersed in greenery — a contemporary home designed not only to enjoy its setting, but to contribute to it.
