Two Town House Conversions, Haddington, East Lothian
Walls, ceilings, floors and years of institutional layers of cables, ducts and services were stripped out to reveal as much of the original building as possible. A complete rewire including the installation of computer network cabling means there are no compromises where mod cons are concerned.
Underfloor heating and internet connected heating controls were installed along with high levels of modern insulation where construction permitted.
The contractor’s also discovered the original cobbles underneath the turf in the rear garden which were put to good use in the hard landscaping of the driveway and car parking areas.
Through our close working relationship with Porcelanosa, two kitchens, utility room and eight bathrooms and showerrooms were designed, specified and installed.
Through our close collaboration with both the planning and building standards departments at the East Lothian Council, we were praised on how well the project had progressed through the planning, listed building and building warrant processes.
The results are stunning. As testament to the quality of the finishes and design, both properties sold long before they were finished. The end result has been of huge interest to those who live locally or have worked in these buildings prior to the works being carried out.
