House Extension, Wardie, Edinburgh
The existing property is a semi detached, Edwardian, three storey townhouse which had been extended previously with a conservatory and lean to structure. While the conservatory was itself a bright space the loss of natural light in the original ground floor rooms to the rear of the house, a direct result of extending, meant that these were no longer particularly pleasant spaces to use.
Our brief was to optimize the amount of natural light within the original ground floor rooms and to create a striking living space which would become the hub of every day family life and when the client is entertaining.
