House Extension, Fairmilehead, Edinburgh
Jefcoate Anderson Architects was appointed as architects for extending and converting the attic of this traditional Edinburgh 1930’s bungalow in Fairmilehead on the south side of Edinburgh.
At ground floor the property was extended to create a contemporary living and kitchen space clad in dark grey fibre cement panels. Two large aluminium composite patio windows glide open, allowing the internal spaces to flow out onto a large raised deck, taking in the magnificent view across central Edinburgh to the north and beyond to the Firth of Forth and Fife.
The existing roof space has been converted to form additional bedroom accommodation and a shower room.
The result is a contemporary project which improves daylight in the existing house, creates new links with the existing garden and has added new rooms and functionality for our clients.
The project was featured in Scotland on Sunday.
