Stone clad House Extension, West Linton, Scottish Borders
Extending a traditional stone property located in a prominent position on the edge of a conservation village is always going to be a challenge. Jefcoate Anderson Architects like to create something new, honest but complimentary to the original building. In this project, our client’s were adamant the extension should have a material palette that matched the existing property and a pitched roof to match the angle of the existing slate roof.
In order to make the most of the views across the village, a large corner window was installed in composition with a natural stone wall panel. The stone was taken from the internal downtakings, dressed and reused in the external finishes.
