*if you’re property/ site is located some distance away from our offices, we may request a small fee to cover travel expenses. Any follow up meeting prior to our appointment will be subject to a fee.

We specialise in the design of site specific, energy efficient homes for private clients or developers. We particularly enjoy designing properties in challenging locations, whether exposed sites or in the middle of a historic conservation area.

Jefcoate Anderson Architects have experience in matching the house design to our client’s specific requirements. We do not have a ‘practice style’, instead, we prefer to create one-off, bespoke properties tailored to our client and the site.

Jefcoate Anderson Architects often work on projects which involve listed buildings. These come with their own set of specific challenges and require sensitive and appropriate design. We have previously converted listed office buildings back into private residential properties, altered internal layouts or simply restored properties back to their former glory.

We have worked on a number of Steading and Barn conversions over the years. We have also converted an historic listed water mill in the Scottish Borders to form a beautiful new family home. Client’s for these projects range from farmers to self-builders keen to take on a challenging project and bring new life into old buildings.
